When you've never lived in the Pacific Northwest, and you all of a sudden find yourself there, creative possibilities seem to change. Inspired by living to learn again, Singularity pays tribute to the Emerald City.

Album NOtes

After regaining my footing (using that phrase rather loosely,) I found myself in multiple odd situations around Seattle. I flipped burgers, played bass in a church band, I designed websites, I worked as a DJ in a gentleman’s club which was later raided and shut down for multiple illegal activities. I was getting over my past.

These tracks plot my course from the U-District to Ballard, and finally to Belltown. Within those moves were road trips through Oregon and Northern California. There was a devastatingly scary trip into San Francisco over the course of a weekend. I had gotten reliable, livable wage job, but I was still trying to find my purpose, and restart my life.

Important to me: I had my guitar and pedalboard again. It was back to serious business.

These tracks came to me as both therapy and necessity. There was no way these tracks weren’t going to be written. When this happens, it’s like remembering something like a phone number and desperately trying to get to pen and paper to write it down. Sometimes we sit down and the moment has left us. Sometimes we’re lucky enough for that moment to linger when we hit the record button.
