An unsettling introduction finally gives way to soundscapes that were recorded at different times across thousands of miles. The second in a series of orphaned ambient tracks.

Seven years after Residual I from 2003, more ambient tracks had piled up with no home. These stretch across 3 cities in two remarkably different places, but it doesn’t matter where you go, when music calls, you answer in ways you best know how. That way often sounds like you do anywhere else. But there are definitely shifts in the way the musician improvises.

Track 3, Three Reversed Conventions, was a 2008 attempt at a new concept in ambient music that I was trying out. It just so happened that I used material from The Geneva Conventions as the initial experimental piece. Though the experiment ended here, you can tell you’re close to the source material, but not quite how close.
